Go sing, too loud

Make your voice break - sing it out

Go scream, do shout

Make an earthquake…

Go Do was the opening track and lead single for the solo debut from Sigur Ros singer Jónsi. With flittery flutes, and a thok-thok-thok, it announced itself as the effervescent offspring of the ethereal language-inventing Icelandic post-rockers, coming over like the band on a sugar rush. And here, as on most of the album, he sings in English, rather than his native Icelandic, or Hopelandish. A recognisable lyric adds a further burst of urgency, even if sometimes the sound of the words as they spill out and flow in and out of the instrumentation is enchanting enough that you don’t quite notice until he’s onto the next line.
