Something of a curiosity this. Alan McGee, sitting on huge piles of cash at Creation Records HQ, seems to have been pretty open to solo projects from artists on his roster. While the solo efforts from Sice, recording as Eggman for presumably sound artistic reasons, and Ed Ball (whose _Catholic Guilt _was released the following year) didn’t change the face of music as we know it, both were perfectly decent distractions.</p>

On First Fruits, Sice recruited the rest of The Boo Radleys for backing duties, giving the album the feel of a relaxed Boos awayday, running through a set of lighter Boo Radleys moments, the songs that manage to get from intro to outro without the usual Martin Carr seismic shifts.
