It feels like a great time to have more than a passing interesting in shoegazing, with a seemingly never-ending wave of new bands taking the old ‘gazer template and tweaking it with their own styles. Seasurfer’s approach - something their label refers to as “dreampunk” - sees them somehow creating confrontational dream pop, and sumptuous waves of reverb with added angst. The result mostly sounds like shoegazing, but feels more substantial.
