Engineers’ self-titled debut album was a thing of quiet and calm beauty. Perhaps to quiet; too calm. Perhaps the wrong sound at the wrong time, but whatever the reason it was largely ignored. Despite adding crunch, and then keyboard brilliance courtesy of Ulrich Schnauss, the band has never really managed to capture the audience its hooks clearly deserve. After two albums, the inevitable label change came, the band moving from Echo to Kscope before the release of their third and most recent album In Praise of More in 2010.
