As disappointing second albums go, The Charlatans’ Between 10th and 11th is hard to top. It’s as if the band knew they’d created a collection that while not exactly bad, struggles to rise above humdrum: titles like ‘I Don’t Want To See The Sights’, Chewing Gum Weekend, ‘(No One) Not Even The Rain’, The End Of Everything and the aposite ‘Can’t Even Be Bothered’ do a good job of anticipating the listening experience.

As if to show fans what they could have won, they throw in Tremelo Song, shunted along by its simple piano riff, and which deserves better company, and Weirdo - the solitary blast and shock that suggested the mundanity around it was just a blip.
