The world of folk is getting plenty of well-deserved attention right now (at least in the part of the musical blogosphere that’s visible from where RRP stands), with imminent new releases from the likes of The Unthanks, and a steady blurring of the boundaries surrounding indie-folk. With genre walls tumbling everywhere, surely it can’t be long before “folk or not?” distinctions are a past concern.

Having been named BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer Of The Year in 2014, Bella Hardy is set to release her seventh solo album With The Dawn in March. The Only Thing To Do is a taste of what’s to come from a largely conceptual album that gives an account of a year in the artist’s life. The songs on With The Dawn were inspired by her own experiences, good or bad.

With The Dawn is set for release on March 30th on Noe Records.
